Terms and conditions

  1. The Organiser of HSBC MPF Outdoor Challenge (the ‘Event’) is The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (the ‘Organiser’), while Sportsoho Media Limited is Event Executor (the ‘Event Executor’) to manage the event.
  2. The registration starts from 4pm, 23 January 2017. Entry is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Organiser and Event Executor reserve the right to close registration without prior notice.
  3. All applicants should register according to the age requirement of each category and enroll for the suitable category in accordance with their age. Age is counted based on the year of birth. For example, if you are born on 1 April 1998, your age is regarded as 19. Offenders will be disqualified.
  4. The category registered by the participants cannot be changed upon confirmation.
  5. A confirmation email will be sent to the registered participants upon successful registration.
  6. If the participant cannot attend the Event, it will be regarded as a waiver of his right to participate and no alternative arrangement will be provided. Participation place is not transferable or assignable.
  7. Parent or guardian’s endorsement is required for participant aged below 18 and should be provided by relevant participants before starting the race. For participants aged under 18 who enroll the Event online, please download and complete the ‘Parent or Guardian Consent Form’ and send by post to Flat B, 1/F, Wah Mow Factory Building, 202-204 Choi Hung Road, Diamond Hill, Kowloon, Hong Kong, specifying ‘HSBC MPF Outdoor Challenge’ on the envelope.
  8. All information provided by a participant for registration must be true and accurate. The Organiser and Event Executor reserve the right to decline any applications with incorrect information provided and/or submitted via improper procedures.
  9. Upon submitting an enrolment, a participant is deemed to have accepted all terms and conditions of the Event.
  10. During the race, participants should put on their bibs on their chest and ensure they are clearly visible to the onsite race officials at all times. The Organiser and Event Executor reserve the right to disqualify those who fail to comply.
  11. Participants are required to cross the timing mats at the Start and Finish. The Organiser and Event Executor cannot provide a completion time for the participants due to improper wearing or damage of the bib, or those who fail to cross the timing mats.
  12. Participants should follow any instructions given by the onsite race officials, officers or any other authorised persons of the Organiser and Event Executor. In case of emergency, participants must retire and leave the race course/event venue immediately if requested by any race official, medical staff, race director or security staff.
  13. Participation in the Event is voluntary and at the own risk of participants. Each participant agrees to absolve the Organiser, the Event Executor and any sponsor and/or supporting organisations from any and all liabilities arising from bodily injuries, accidents, death or other losses during or caused by travelling to and from the event venue, during the Event or whatsoever reason.
  14. If the participant posts any message containing inappropriate content, namely containing profanity, vulgar language, defamatory statements, inaccurate reports or otherwise being illegal, on any of the event-related promotion platforms including Facebook of the Organiser and the Event Executor, the Organiser and Event Executor reserve the right to delete the message and to withdraw the eligibility of the relevant participant to participate in the Event.
  15. The prizes or alternative gifts offered under the Event cannot be redeemed for cash or exchanged for other gifts, and no changes will be given. In case of any disputes arising as to the entitlement of prizes under this Event, the decision of the Organiser and Event Executor will be final and conclusive.
  16. Neither the Organiser nor Event Executor is the supplier of the prizes. Any enquiries or complaints in relation to the prizes should be directed to the relevant suppliers. The Organiser and Event Executor will assume no liability in this respect.
  17. Race winners (if applicable) will be required to present their identification including Hong Kong identity card or passport for verification.
  18. E-certificates will be issued to all participants who have fully complete the race with an official time in all races and categories. Participants, who do not start the race according to the designated start time or assigned registered race category or who do not complete the race, shall not be entitled to any prizes and certificates.
  19. All intellectual property rights in relation to all items of this Event (including, but not limited to copyright, trademark, design and model rights) and other rights (including but not limited to banners, advertising property and concepts rights) shall belong to the Organiser.
  20. The Organiser reserves the right to amend, revise or delete the terms and conditions in respect of this Event, or to amend the event details, at any time for any reason without giving prior notice to the participants. Participants should review the relevant event details before participating in the event. In case of any dispute, the Organiser reserves the right of final decision and interpretation.
